Introducing Scentalytics AI Platform
The Scentalytics AI Platform combines a series of custom-trained AI models with the power...
The AI Perfume Creator consists of three main modules. To simulate the real-life perfume creation process, we first introduce Compose. This module allows users to create a general idea of a future fragrant product, by selecting the main desired accords and preferences such as gender appeal, seasonal suitability, and ideal time of day for wear.
Based on the selected characteristics, Compose suggests the possible perfume compositions that may be a good match with the input criteria. It also displays the percentage of match for each suggestion. One potential use case for this feature is to facilitate collaboration between perfume makers and their customers by providing a digital solution where clients can easily express their preferences.
While using Compose, feel free to experiment with the Creativity parameter. This setting corresponds to the probability that certain perfume notes are included in the suggested compositions. If the Creativity is set to high (3), the suggestions will usually include less common notes. If it's set to low (1), the AI model will generate more frequent notes for the given criteria, and compositions may have a low number of notes overall. Feel free to experiment with Creativity, to find some potentially less common but interesting creations!
It’s also worth noting that you can combine different accords with various seasonal or daytime characteristics. For example, you can try pairing aquatic or marine accords (typically used in summer or spring perfumes) with high values for fall or winter. However, be aware that in such unconventional combinations, you may not always get a reasonable result (if you get one at all). The high Creativity level may help in these situations as well.
Compose module is available in the Pro version.
By clicking on one of the suggested results in Compose, the composition will open in the Analyze module. This module allows you to refine your creation further. With the help of a series of functional AI models from our platform, it displays various predicted characteristics of the fragrance composition, similar to those available in Compose, but at a more detailed level and with some additional features.
In addition to the accords, fragrance type, gender, weather and daytime suitability, Analyze also shows personality types, emotions, and colors that could be expressed by wearing a fragrance with the given set of notes. You can also see to what extent perfume notes can be related to the scores of the solmization scale on the Sounds chart. This “Modern” chart set is available in the app to anyone with a free account.
When determining the list of personality types, emotions, or colors used in the training process of our AI models, we combined our intuition and a bit of cretive freedom with traditional knowledge from literature. Perfumery is not just about strict mathematical and logical rules, but also about emotional resonance and personal touch. Our approach to AI modeling reflects this balance, contributing to the artistry of fragrance creation. While predictions from these models are not definitive, we believe they provide a valuable overview of the overall appearance for the potential fragrance product you wish to create.
The Pro version of the app allows users to see how consumers might potentially react to a perfume composed of the entered notes. This feature is available through five different sentiment categories, displayed below the buttons row. High values in the “Very positive” and “Positive” categories suggest that consumers would likely appreciate the scent. There’s also a predicted rating score ranging from 1 to 5. Although these values are estimates based on real consumer votes from online data sources, they should not be considered absolute or definitive.
All registered users have the ability to save their creations. To save a creation, the user must enter a name for it. Optionally, users can write a description of the creation, as add tags to further characterize it. The Save creation feature can be particularly useful for internal experiment tracking, especially when combined with the Example formula feature.
While saving creation, users can generate compelling fragrance names or descriptions with the help of generative AI. The generated fragrance descriptions and names can then serve as templates for further fragrance marketing activities. It’s noteworthy that the predicted characteristics of a fragrance are taken into account while creating names and descriptions. Both the fragrance name generator and description generator are available in the Pro version.
This highly experimental feature, driven by an external large language model, presents a list of raw materials and their volumes that could potentially be used for creating a physical fragrance. You can choose between the three possible concentrations - Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, and Parfum (Extrait or Elixir). The raw materials are grouped into top, middle, and base notes, with their amounts typically summing up to 100 mililiters.
Currently, each perfume note is represented by up to several ingredients. We acknowledge that this feature is not perfect and that actual formulations may be more complex. However, we believe it can provide a starting direction for perfumers to begin experimenting. This could potentially reduce the number of experiments needed and improve the efficiency of the entire process.
In order to make the application more personalized, you can enter your own raw materials in Settings. In addition, you can also select how your raw materials will be used when creating formulas. The app can use only your materials, combine them with external ones, or not use them at all.
We are constantly exploring ways to enhance the Example formula feature. One of the most promising approaches would be to collaborate with fragrance makers who can leverage their own formulation databases to build more precise and customized models. That’s why we invite anyone interested to reach out and discuss the potential collaborations.
Scentalytics Wear will be a natural language-powered search engine for creations made in the app. The idea is to provide a platform where consumers can search for the fragrances they like and find creations that represent real products, made by users in the application.
For example, if you are a perfumer with your own perfume line available in your webshop, you will be able to create digital representations of your products, add links to your webshop, and publish them on Wear. When your creations appear in the search results, potential buyers will be able to visit your online store or contact you directly.
